From lively family beaches to hidden secret coves, here are the best beaches in Pangkor Island you shouldn’t miss on your visit.

Pangkor Island might be one of Malaysia’s smaller islands, but its beaches more than make up for it. Whether you’re after a lively spot with food stalls and water sports, or a quiet cove where you can hear nothing but the waves β€” this island has it all. Here’s our guide to the best beaches on the island.

πŸ–οΈ1. Pasir Bogak Beach β€” Best for Families & First-Timers

If it’s your first visit to Pangkor, Pasir Bogak is probably where you’ll end up β€” and for good reason. It’s the most developed beach on the island, stretching about 1.5 kilometres along the southwest coast. The sea is calm and shallow, making it perfect for families with young kids. You’ll find plenty of food stalls, coconut shade trees, and water sport rentals along the shore.

Best for: Families, first-timers, water sports (jet ski, snorkelling, canoeing)
Vibe: Lively, local, plenty of activity

🌊 2. Teluk Nipah Beach β€” Best for Sunsets & Snorkelling

Teluk Nipah is widely considered one of the most beautiful beaches on Pangkor. The crescent-shaped shoreline faces the Strait of Malacca, which means the sunsets here are absolutely stunning. The waters are clear and calm, making it a popular spot for snorkelling. Nearby are uninhabited islands like Pulau Mentagor and Pulau Giam, which you can reach by kayak or boat tour for even better snorkelling.

Best for: Sunset lovers, snorkellers, couples

Vibe: Relaxed, scenic, good food nearby

🐦 Bonus: Head to the nearby Sunset View Chalet at dusk for the famous hornbill feeding β€” one of Pangkor’s most magical and unique experiences.

🐚 3. Coral Beach β€” Best Kept Secret

Tucked away on the northwestern tip of the island, Coral Beach is the one locals and repeat visitors tend to keep to themselves. It’s quieter, shadier, and the rocks near the shore make it one of the best snorkelling spots on the island. Only a couple of restaurants in the area, which only adds to the peaceful atmosphere. Perfect for a lazy afternoon with a book.

Best for: Quiet escapes, snorkelling, photography

Vibe: Secluded, peaceful, unspoiled

🐒 4. Teluk Ketapang β€” Turtle Bay

Also known as Turtle Bay, Teluk Ketapang is where sea turtles come to nest, typically between May and July. It’s not the most developed beach for swimming, but the experience of being in a place where turtles lay their eggs is something truly special. There’s even a turtle conservation centre nearby if you want to learn more.

Best for: Nature lovers, wildlife watching

Vibe: Quiet, meaningful, educational

Β

πŸ₯Ύ 5. Segadas Beach (Teluk Segadas) β€” The “Secret Beach”

Consider this your reward for the adventurous. Teluk Segadas is often called Pangkor’s secret beach β€” and to get there, you’ll need to trek about 20–25 minutes through a jungle trail from the small town of Teluk Gedung. The effort is absolutely worth it. Once you arrive, you’ll find pristine sand and crystal-clear water almost entirely to yourself.

Best for: Adventure seekers, solo travellers, photographers

Vibe: Raw, untouched, worth the hike
